It was a another great year for Calvary middle school basketball. Basketball season concluded this past week and once again all of our teams did very well.
Our fifth and sixth grade girls team, coached by Andrea Turner, improved a great deal and finished with a record of 5-6. Our seventh and eighth grade girls team coached by Suzanne Beasley finished with a record of 10-2 and were the Savannah Parochial Athletic League (SPAL) runners up. Our seventh grade boys team finished with a record of 8-4 and were coached by Sam Sharpe. The sixth grade boys, coached by Michael Kleinpeter, won the SPAL championship by beating Country Day in an exciting overtime contest. Our eighth grade boys team, coached by Jeremy Merklinger, finished with a record of 11-1 and won the SPAL championship by defeating St. James. This marks the third year in a row that this team has won their league. We are extremely proud of all of our teams and appreciate all of of the time and effort that all the players and the coaches put in to make Calvary Middle School basketball a huge success.
